Intermediate spaces is not random: it is carried out considering both the characteristics of the area (climate and soil) and the type of clone that will be planted, and it affects the duration of the cycle, which grows in line with planting density.
Planting densities not greater than 250-280 plants per hectare and a rectangle of 6x7 meters in size are preferably used, which, besides favouring the growth of the log diameter, help minimize ovalisation and bending.
The average height of the plants at the end of the cycle is 25 meters, with about 12 meters of log to be turned into plywood. The average diameter at the end of the cycle is around 35 cm. From a plant of this size, about 1.5 cu. m of wood are obtained, of which 0.9 cu. m of log.
