WHY HAVE WE ESTABLISHED THESE MANAGEMENT RULES?

In 2006, the farm joined the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) protocols, the independent organization that promotes environmentally and socially sustainable management of forests and plantations worldwide, with positive effects from an economic and business point of view. From that moment on, poplar groves have been grown according to the rules defined by this protocol and are subjected to regular audits by the certifying body.
The management of the poplar grove must pursue some objectives, including:

1. Continuity over time of poplar groves with optimal characteristics for their use in the plywood sector thanks to an adequate economic yield;
2. Reduction of the environmental impact of the poplar grove on the areas directly affected and the neighbouring ones;
3. Definition of poplar grove management methods capable of ensuring full compliance with the legislative requirements as well as with FSC^® principles and criteria;
4. Reduction of the use of plant protection products and chemicals.
